Uganda and Nigeria have finalised a major dairy agreement that will see Uganda export 200,000 tonnes of powdered milk, valued at approximately $1 billion, to Nigeria.

The deal opens a significant export market for Uganda’s dairy industry while helping Nigeria address growing domestic demand for milk products and reduce supply gaps. It also reflects a broader shift toward strengthening intra-African trade, with both countries leveraging their agricultural and market strengths to drive economic cooperation.
